EZINNE DESIGNS
A few weeks ago I came across a dope designer on Instagram Jane Ifegwu @m4rryj4ne a fellow Nigerian ✊🏾🇳🇬 and I instantly fell in love with her creativity. Jane is a 19 year old entrepreneur from Union New Jersey and you can just see the drive in her work. I knew I had to get an inside scoop on her up coming project EZINNE DESIGNS for my queens. I got the chance to interview Jane and here is was she shared:
As a young girl I've always been interested in fashion, specifically fashion and design. What made me want to be a designer, all started when I took a sewing class in High School which helped me gain more knowledge about how to construct garments. Putting all my effort into the simple projects we were given, I realized that sewing was something that I was good at and wanted to learn more about. So I took it upon myself to learn new techniques and mastered them. I started making clothes for my self as a hobby, which turned into a business. Making clothes for people led me to create my own clothing line. I have been designing for 3 years now. Culture inspires my designs especially my African culture . I love to see what other people from different countries wear for special occasions, birthdays, church/ traditional ceremonies. It helps me to think of new and creative ways I can make my designs modernized, and appealing to the younger generation. I am working on some new and exciting things for this summer 2016.
