You're Good Enough

Many of us struggle with understanding who we are. A lot of you are wondering right now if you are good enough. You’re wondering why the good things never happen for you. A lot of you all sit and watch people conquer the world but rather than getting up and taking what belongs to you, you throw a pity party for yourself and wonder what your life would be like if you got that promotion, the solo, or if you came up with that idea first. Like most of you, I was the same way. I would always beat myself up for not going the extra mile to be in the position to receive great opportunity. When my friends would brag about all the good things happening in their life I would suddenly feel jealous. Not intentionally, don’t get me wrong I would be extremely happy for them, but I would feel some type of way. And then I began feeling as though I wasn’t good enough for those things too happened in my life. I convinced myself that I didn’t deserve it. I allowed negative thoughts to take over my thinking. As I got older and got more acquainted with God I learned that he works all things together for the good of those who love him. And I loved him wholeheartedly. I began to realize that everything has it time. So if my best friend gets a new job or a new car, I have to understand that mine is on the way. And instead of dragging my feet and getting upset, I need to push myself to make those same accomplishments. There is this thing that I have started to do, and in some ways it gives me confidence for the future. Every time someone share good news with me, I reply by saying “I’m happy for you, my time is coming.” It may be cheesy but it’s something I do to keep my head up. Over the years I’ve built confidence in myself, understanding that there is no one like me. Self-love is key, without it you won’t know how you should be treated. It all starts with you. Once you have the mindset that you are good enough, others will see it too.
